No. Logmate warns you but does not prevent you from working.
How do warnings work?
Logmate tracks your work-time and shows warnings when you approach a limit:
Continuous driving approaching 5.5 hours (or 7 hours for SPSV/TAXI)
Work-time approaching 13 hours in a shift
Work-time approaching 70 hours in a Work Period
Starting a shift with less than 10 hours rest
Starting a Work Period with less than 24 hours rest
These are warnings only. Logmate does not lock you out or stop you from making entries.
Whose responsibility is it?
The decision to stop or continue working is always yours. You are responsible for following NZ work-time rules.
If you exceed a limit, Logmate records a violation in your shift. Violations are permanent and visible to your approved TSL Holders and Enforcement Officers. See What Are the NZ Work-Time Rules? for the full list of limits and violations.
What do the warning colours mean?
Colour | Meaning |
Green | You are within limits |
Orange | You are approaching a limit |
Red | You have reached or exceeded a limit |
The Mobile App dashboard shows countdown timers that change colour as you approach each limit. See Your First Shift for an overview of the dashboard.
