Logbook concepts

Term

Meaning

Work Shift

A record of your work day. Up to 13 hours of work-time.

Work Period

A series of Work Shifts with less than 24 hours rest between them. Max 70 hours total.

Work-time

Time spent driving, on Other Duty, or on breaks shorter than 30 minutes.

Rest break

A break of 30 minutes or more. Does not count as work-time.

Off-duty time

Rest time between shifts. Minimum 10 hours required.

Violation

A work-time rule breach recorded in your logbook.

Menu

Tap the menu icon at the top left to access:

  • Reload Profile — Sync your account data

  • Software Licence — View your licence status

  • Enforcement Export — Export records for a roadside inspection

  • Diagnostics — Mobile App health and debug info

  • Sign Out — Log out of the Mobile App

Dashboard states

The dashboard changes based on your current shift state.

State

What you see

Onboarding checklist — complete your profile, add a vehicle, connect to a TSL Holder

Period summary, next shift countdown, Start New Shift button

On-duty

Work-time countdown timers, work mode buttons (Drive, Other Duty, Break, End Shift)

When on-duty, the dashboard title changes to show your current activity (e.g. "Driving ABC123", "REST BREAK"). Countdown timers warn you as you approach work-time limits.

Work Shift lifecycle

Every Work Shift follows this cycle:

Start → Drive / Other Duty → Break → (repeat) → End → Lock

Choose Drive or Other Duty to begin

Tap Drive

Select a vehicle and enter the odometer reading

Other Duty

Tap Other Duty

Record non-driving work (loading, paperwork, maintenance)

Break

Tap Break

Start a rest break. Must be 30+ minutes to count as rest.

End

Tap End Shift

End your work day. Your rest period starts.

Lock

Tap Review & Lock Shift

Review entries, then tap Confirm. Sends records to your TSL Holders.

A locked shift is permanent and cannot be changed. See What Are the Work Shift States? for a full description of each state.

Vehicle type and work-time rules

Your vehicle type determines your continuous work-time limit.

Vehicle type

Continuous work limit

Break required

SPSV or TAXI

7 hours

30-minute break before reaching 7 hours

All other types

5.5 hours

30-minute break before reaching 5.5 hours

The 7-hour limit only applies when driving SPSV or TAXI vehicles with no Other Duty entries and all fares under 100 km.

You set the vehicle type when you add a vehicle. It cannot be changed after saving. See Manage My Vehicles.
