A Work Shift moves through several states from start to finish.

What are the states?

State

Meaning

On Duty (Driving / Other Duty / On Break)

Shift is active. You are currently working or on break.

Ended

Shift is finished. You can still edit entries before locking.

Locked

Permanent record. No changes allowed. Copies supplied to approved TSL Holders.

On Duty

Your shift is on duty from the moment you tap NEW SHIFT until you end it. The dashboard shows countdown timers and your current work mode.

While on duty, you switch between entry types:

  • Drive β€” driving a vehicle

  • Other Duty β€” non-driving work

  • Break β€” resting (must be 30+ minutes to count as valid rest)

Ended

After you tap END SHIFT, the shift moves to the ended state. You can still:

  • Edit entry times

  • Add comments

  • Fix odometer readings

The home screen shows REVIEW & LOCK SHIFT until you lock it. See Edit Logbook Entries.

Locked

After you tap LOCK and CONFIRM, the shift becomes a permanent record.

  • Entries cannot be edited or deleted

  • A copy is supplied to all approved TSL Holders

  • A lock icon and date appear on the shift

A locked shift cannot be unlocked. See End and Lock Your Shift.
