What Happens When I Drive for Multiple Operators?

How work-time tracking works when you drive for more than one operator.

How work-time tracking works when you drive for more than one operator.

Do I need separate logbooks?

No. You have one logbook regardless of how many operators you drive for. All your work-time goes into the same logbook.

How does work-time add up?

Your work-time limits apply across all your operators β€” not per operator:

  • 5.5 hours continuous work (total across all operators)

  • 13 hours work-time per shift (total across all operators)

  • 70 hours per Work Period (total across all operators)

When you drive for Operator A in the morning and Operator B in the afternoon, all that time counts together. Your Work Period balance does not reset when you switch operators.

See What Are the NZ Work-Time Rules? for the full list of limits.

What does each operator see?

When you lock a shift, copies are supplied to all your approved TSL Holders. Each operator receives a copy of the locked shift.

See How Are Drivers and Operators Related? for details on the relationship and how sharing works.

How do I add multiple operators?

You can have multiple TSL Holders linked to your account. See Manage Your TSL Holders for how to send nominations and accept invites. Rideshare drivers should also see the Rideshare Driver Guide.
