Answers to common questions from Transport Operators.
Why should I create an Operator Account?
NZ law requires TSL Holders to maintain copies of their drivers' work-time records. An Operator Account gives you automatic access to locked shifts from your drivers, a dashboard to view work-time, and tools to manage your drivers and Software Licences. See Create an Operator Account.
What is the difference between Owner Operator and Standard Operator?
Feature | Owner Operator | Standard Operator |
Cost | Free | Paid Subscription |
Maximum drivers | 2 | Unlimited |
NZBN | Optional | Required |
Can invite drivers | No (receives nominations only) | Yes |
Maximum admin users | 1 | Unlimited |
Choose Owner Operator if you have 1-2 drivers. Choose Standard Operator if you have more. See Create an Operator Account.
How many admin users can I have?
Owner Operator accounts are limited to 1 admin user. Standard Operator accounts can have multiple. One must be the Operator Owner Admin with full privileges. See Manage Admin Users.
How are Software Licences allocated?
Each driver needs a valid Software Licence. As an operator, you can assign operator-managed licences to your drivers through your Subscription. Drivers can also purchase their own self-managed licences. See Manage Your Subscription and Licences and Your Software Licence (for drivers).
What happens if a driver leaves?
Remove them from your Drivers list and revoke their operator-managed Software Licence if you assigned one. The driver keeps their Logbook Account and shift history. You keep access to their locked shifts from the time they drove under your TSL. See Manage Drivers.
Can I see all my drivers' shifts?
You can see locked shifts from drivers linked to your Operator Account. Shifts must be locked before they appear. Open or ended (but unlocked) shifts are not visible to operators. See View and Export Driver Shifts.
