When you change a value that the Mobile App auto-generates — such as the start time or location — the change is noted as a modification in your logbook.

How does it work?

When you save an entry with a modified auto-generated value, the shift record shows a MODIFICATIONS section at the bottom.

Each modification shows:

  • The entry that was changed

  • What was changed (time or location)

  • The original auto-generated value (FROM)

  • The new value you entered (TO)

Who can see modifications?

Anyone who views the shift can see modifications. This includes:

  • You (the driver)

  • Your approved TSL Holders

  • Enforcement officers (via an export)

Why are modifications recorded?

NZ work-time rules require an accurate logbook. Modifications create a transparent record of changes. This protects both drivers and operators by showing exactly what was changed and when.
